OUR BELIEFS
The gospel is the hope of the world. We see overarching themes in Scripture of God’s providence, power and provision to reconcile mankind and the created world to Himself through the Person and work of Jesus Christ. In light of this, we are gospel-centered in all that we preach, teach and practice.
The Bible
We believe that the whole Bible, in the original manuscripts, was inspired by God and is without error. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible focuses on the Lord Jesus Christ, His person and work, and was designed for our practical instruction.
(Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 17:2-3; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 10:11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
(Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 17:2-3; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 10:11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons - the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. These three are one God having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience.
(Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews. 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6)
(Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews. 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6)
Jesus Christ
We believe that as provided and purposed by God and announced in the Bible, the eternal Son of God came into this world to manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end He was born of a virgin, received a human body and a sinless human nature. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sinners by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. We believe that Christ was born and remained a perfect man, sinless throughout His life; yet He retained His absolute deity, being at the same time fully God and fully man.
(Luke 1:30-35; 2:40; John 1:1-2; 1:18; 3:16; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 4:15).
(Luke 1:30-35; 2:40; John 1:1-2; 1:18; 3:16; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 4:15).
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of the need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
(John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18)
(John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18)
Man & Sin
We believe that man was created in the image and after the likeness of God. We believe that man fell through sin and as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life and is alienated from God. We believe that apart from divine grace man cannot know God.
(Genesis 1:26; 2:17; 6:5; Psalm 14:1-3; 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Romans 3:10-19; 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy 5:6; 1 John 3:8)
(Genesis 1:26; 2:17; 6:5; Psalm 14:1-3; 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Romans 3:10-19; 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy 5:6; 1 John 3:8)
Salvation
We believe that God's free gift of salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. Our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and that no degree of morality, ordinance, culture, church attendance or good behavior can help man take one step toward heaven. We believe that God gives and will not take back eternal life for those who trusted in Christ as Savior.
(Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:4-5; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; 10:29-30; 14:6; Titus 3:5; 1 John 5:11-13)
(Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:4-5; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; 10:29-30; 14:6; Titus 3:5; 1 John 5:11-13)
Marriage
We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such, He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform marriages in accordance with the Bible consistent with the Old and New Testament.
(Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32;
1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11,18-20, 7:1-3,8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11)
(Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32;
1 Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11,18-20, 7:1-3,8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11)
Baptism
We practice Believer’s Baptism in obedience to Jesus’ example (Matthew 3:13-16) and command (Matthew 28:19) as an outward sign of the inward faith of each individual (1 Peter 3:21). We believe that complete immersion in water best symbolizes the meaning of baptism (Romans 6:3-4).
Human Life
We believe that human life begins at conception and that an unborn baby is an image bearer of God.
